Ground is Lava is our premier Turboshift and changes from a vibrant red to a yellow gold to orange. Like a volcano, it is very "active" and shows its true colors under many lighting situations.

Details:
• Water-based acrylic paint
• Must be applied to black undercoat
• Apply 3-5 thin layers with airbrush or handbrush

Use 3 coats over black primer, but it's a great color!

I painted Magnus the Red's wings in this color. It definitely needed three coats, but it is a beautiful iridescence from copper to a rich purple. It does depend on the lighting - my single bulb lamp at home doesn't bring out the richness of the color all that well - but it really shows in good lighting. As with all the color shift paints it works better on flatter surfaces instead of highly textured.
