Always gonna be a scene where the party gets ambushed in the forest. This is perfect set up.

Easy to Implement
Most RPG settings have the woodlands somewhere in them, so this map is easy to throw into any game. Want a simple encounter while the party is traveling down a straight forested path? One of the sides has that. A simple straight woodland path. The other side has a more interesting layout. One corner has an evil looking alter, the opposing has a tree larger than the rest. Another corner has a small waterway, and the last a pit with bones. All these locations are connected by winding forest paths. This region works well for a small set of encounters - maybe two or three combats. However you decide to use the map, it represents the RPG staple woodlands quite well.
