Mon Dieu, Quelle Horreur!

Now the inhabitants of Orléans have been hit hard; the plague has come upon them, bringing suffering and misery to the population. There are many dead to mourn, and even the plague doctor can only bring limited relief and hope to the long-suffering inhabitants. The clergy also has little to offer in the way of relief. And so, in the end, everyone is on their own and must try to protect their followers as best they can.

•Plague Cards: The Plague cards, 3 of which are laid out the beginning of each game, tighten the conditions.

•Corpse Tokens: Corpse tokens go into the bags, together with the Follower tiles. Just like followers, corpses are drawn each round and block space on the market.

•Indulgence Cards: By fulfilling Indulgence cards, Corpse tokens can be removed.

•Plague Doctor: The new Plague Doctor figure is now available to each player nearly every round to help alleviate the consequences of the plague.

•New Beneficial Deeds: Experience new action possibilities by sending followers to the new Beneficial Deeds game board.

•New Events: New events change the conditions during each round of play; in addition, they usually bring new Corpse tokens to the players' market places.

•Infirmary & Place Tiles: The Infirmary, as well as 3 new Place tiles especially for this expansion, bring new action possibilities to the game.

Good Expansion--But Deluxe Owners Need a Solution

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

This 3rd expansion to Orleans offers some unique new events and can easily be integrated into the game without to much difficulty. At least, in terms of the game play this is true. For those who have a deluxe version with wooden pieces from TMG's release, this will be a bit problematic as there are new cardboard chits here that must go into your drawbag. That means tracking down wood circles in a color that matches. Of course, if you still have the cardboard components that were also sent, you would need to then just switch to those, but cardboard differences in the chits may be an issue for some. Coin capsules might be another way to go. It would be helpful to have some of these alternatives listed somewhere otherwise I suspect a lot of people will be frustrated, or just pass on this.
