Scarlet Citadel: Map Folio (5E)

I bought this for general RPG and miniatures game use (don't have the Scarlet Citadel book). I feel the quantity, size, and quality of these maps are well worth the price. My only concern is the creases from the folds; being that the material is rather thick, they may be annoying to flatten but I'm sure it can be done.

The maps are well done. It will save me a lot of time prepping for this campaign. As a bonus, there are map overlays that can be placed on the map when things happen that change how the map looks. Two issues, both sort of minor. First, the maps are printed on heavy paper and it is hard to get them to lie flat. This means that the figures placed on the map slide about and tip over. I am planning to place the map under a sheet of acrylic to hold it flat. Which leads to problem 2: each section of map is, well, a whole map. You need a way to hide most of the map from the players so they only see where they are. I will probably use paper or post its for this - but it gets more complicated when the map is under acrylic. Overall though, a good supplement for the campaign, and I recommend getting it.

This Map Folio is completely worth the purchase. Full, foldout laminated (on decently thick paper) maps of the different locales and floors of the Scarlet Citadel ensures that your game is ready without the hassle of trying to furnish or draw a map for each new location. They are gorgeous maps in vibrant color, and are sure to impress your group. Highly recommend this purchase, and hope to see ALL future modules or campaigns begin to include folios such as this; it provides a huge quality of life upgrade for DMs and players alike!
