Gotham Under Siege Review

Gotham City's most infamous villains have put the city into peril once again. Now, Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Commissioner Gordon, and the Gotham City Police Department, along with the unlikely aid of Catwoman, are all that stands between restoring peace and the total destruction of Gotham City!

Designed by Richard Launius and Mchael Guigliano, Gotham City Under Siege is a cooperative game for 1-5 players. Each player takes on the role of a powerful Gotham City super hero and must defend the city over the course of four acts, with each act inspired by epidsodes from the first season of the show. Players will need to work together to find the right balance between completing challenging story cards, or taking down the villains and masterminds running rampant in the streets!

The most powerful I've ever felt when rolling dice

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

This game somehow manages to capture the feel of Batman better than any other Batman game I have ever encountered. Dice are always fun to roll, and personal powers give that added little oomph that makes you feel like a genuine asset to your team. And there is nothing more powerful and satisfying feeling than placing your die and managing to knock out an entire toppling tower of thugs. The production value is okay if you're used to mass market games and never have high expectations. The minis are cute, but don't seem like they will stand up to time. The buildings are an unnecessary bother. As cool as it seems to swing around the rooftops, the game is more easily played if you simply leave them in the box where they can't block your line of sight. There is a bit of set up time involved between each act, but nothing unmanageable. This game also seems a tad easier than some cooperative games I have played; it isn't lacking in challenge, necessarily, but it does give you ample room to knock out baddies without an ever-looming threat of doom to pull down your mood.
