Mazescape: Ariadne @ 1:02:35

Mazescape is a fascinating and intriguing game of labyrinths for one player that guarantees intense brain racking moments as you search for the exit. It is a game you can take anywhere and play time and time again to discover all the different nooks and crannies of the seven maps included.

It is a completely unique concept that promises to equally surprise and create headaches in equal measure. In this original game from Devir, you will unfold a map on the table, where you will start at the compass rose with the pointer you will find in the box, moving it along the labyrinth paths marked in white without ever lifting it from the map. You will have to open and close different parts of the map in search of the Impossible Triangle that will allow you to escape the maze. You can go under bridges, climb up ladders and run around in circles in the maze and in your own head until the exit finally leads you to the next map!

In Mazescape: Ariadne, the minotaur is holding Ariadne captive in the deepest dungeon of his labyrinth and you are her only hope. Mazescape: Ariadne is a solitaire game with seven different challenges.

Very creative, great puzzler

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

I haven't beaten this yet, but having played several of the mazes now I know I definitely like it. The game is pretty difficult, for me anyway, even in the early stages. If you just want to find the exit, it isn't too bad, but getting 100% of the collectibles along the way is probably the best way to play it and it will add a lot to the difficulty even in the beginning. I like trying to puzzle out how to manipulate the map to open up new pathways. It's difficult to wrap your head around a new maze at first, but once you start to get it it's pretty satisfying. You get a lot of mazes and for the price, you're looking at hours of use here. Kids will enjoy at least the first few maps, and adults will enjoy completing the entire experience I think. My only complaint and this is just a personal hang-up more than anything, is that the constant folding and unfolding will wear down the edges. I haven't destroyed a map yet, but it makes me cringe while using the paper and is a bit distracting for me. That probably won't be a problem for everyone, so I will stick with 5 stars. I'd be willing to pay a few more bucks if they used that plant fiber paper that some children's books use which makes them nearly indestructible, though. If you like mazes, puzzles, getting that aha! moment when you finally solve a puzzle, you will probably like this. I will likely pick up more of these when I finish this one.

Fun Brainteaser

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Really fun little solo game with a surprising amount of replayability due to achievements. Plus, the maps fold back neatly, so I could definitely see this being a stocking stuffer for a friend this Christmas.
