The famed Blackhorse Regiment was tasked with the impossible if World War Three came. Hold 4 Soviet Divisions of the 8th Guards Army from advancing deep into West Germany and giving the V Corps behind it time to form up and stop the Soviet advance. Outnumbered and outgunned, the 11th Cavalry did have the latest in American military technology. Armed with brand new M1 Abrams tanks and M3 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles, they had the best the US was capable of producing. The men of the regiment were among the best the US could produce as well. Could they hold against incredible odds?

The Fulda Gap is the first of a four-game set featuring the war that never came in 1985. This game will be followed by the Soviet attack on the "Hof Gap" against VII Corps, and the main attack by the Soviets against NATO across the North German plains. Also coming, the battle of Berlin. All of these games are in the same coherent vision of a possible nightmare history of the eighties that thankfully, never came.
