Bismarck: The Last Battle is a solitaire , low complexity tactical game placing you in command of the famous Bismarck, the fearless German battleship, and the cruiser Prinz Eugen during WWII.
The game simulates the last five days of the ship's numerous patrols in the Atlantic Ocean from the 23rd to the 27th of May 1941.
The game utilizes a card-driven battle system revolving around Bismarck's operations. This provides the player with naval combat and damage control decisions as Bismarck and Prinz Eugen attempt to breakout into the Atlantic or reach safety in the port of Brest. A second player may command the Prinz Eugen heavy cruiser in a fully cooperative (optional) scenario of the game.
As the tide turns in favor of the enemy, tough decisions and evasive tactics will become absolutely necessary to prevail while Bismarck, the absolute hunter, becomes the hunted!
While the game does not affect the course of war, it does have great historical accuracy. The main target of the player is to sink enemy warships, shoot down enemy bombers and try to survive after the last 5th turn, to win the game. Players may play a full campaign or a completely free sandbox mode.
