The 3,500-ton Union-class DropShip first appeared in 2708 and, across four centuries, has remained the yardstick against which all other ships are measured. The standard design isn well armed and armored, and it carries a company of MechWarriors and their 'Mechs, along with technical support crews and aerospace support. The success of the craft has led to numerous variants: from cargo haulers to combined-arms transports. Whether travelling to the safe harbor of a well-protected world or the hottest landing zone during a border invasion, the Union gets the job done.
