The German Border, 1944. . .The German Army is full retreat after their heavy defeat in Normandy. The Allied forces are sweeping across France and Belgium towards the German border, soon Germany itself will be invaded. To halt the Allied advance and buy time to rebuild their shattered forces, the German high command begin to rapidly reactivate and man the defences of the Westwall.
Throughout the autumn, the advancing US armies, delayed by supply shortages, will find themselves engaged in bitter fighting to breakthrough the lines of concrete bunkers, minefields and anti-tank obstacles. Whilst behind the Westwall, the remaining panzers forces re-arm, ready to fight again.
