Fun in the sun

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

This game plays over 8 “episodes” or stories that unfold as you explore rooms and fend off mechanical ancient Egyptian creatures. This can be played cooperatively or solo and I recommend if you’re playing solo to play as at least two characters. -The art in this is fantastic and the minis reflect the art very well. -The rooms being trays that link together with plastic doors is really neat (maybe unnecessary but cool nonetheless). -The COOLEST part is the rulebook specifically says: •Setup •Now STOP reading this and go to the expedition book. •The expedition book walks you through a tutorial start to the story and game and it works FLAWLESSLY. It literally tells you how to perform each step of your turn for a few turns before letting you go on your own. I rarely had to refer to the rulebook. VERY well done when learning the game and very simple. -The insert is very good but could use better token storage areas. -A con for me is that the doors are a bit tight at the tops when pushing the red door tokens into them. Be mindful as to not damage the tokens. You could probably do just as well to lay the token in a room by the door itself until you “open” the door. I would highly recommend this especially if you can nab it on sale. I think MSRP is a bit too high (compared to other full art games with minis) but it isn’t astronomical. It may seem fairly simple at first… but I am still trying strategies to tackle the second expedition… it can be tough out in the desert that holds valuable and scary secrets. ;)

The exploration game I didn't know I needed

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

I don't even know where to start, it's such a complete game. Loved the design, campaign style, setup, and the game itself. Miniatures will be an interesting artwork when painted and using boxes as tiles is such a great idea. Love this game!

Fun Egyptian exploration game

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Gameplay is fast and easy to learn. Nice tutorial. Big hit for the family. We like how there's a card keyed to a symbol on the board for every search action. The rooms, doors, and minis look great on the table. Well-written story. Activating enemies at start of a players turn, combined with them reacting in your fight rolls, works well.

Great game that won't take a lifetime to finish

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

This is a very fun game that you can get to the table fairly easily and has simple mechanics while telling a great story. It has 8 scenarios plus a tutorial and expansion can add up to 3 more scenarios.
